Generally, research activities have been increased amongst the majority of the institutes. However, in most cases, major parts of the increase is owed to increased public funding. On the other hand, some of the institutes have experienced a significant increase of contract-based research activities. As a general recommendation, funding decisions should be made on the quality and attractiveness of overall business plans rather then on specific research activities.
